OWEN SOUND EMANCIPATION DAY - Virtual Festival 2020, Owne Sound, Ontario
Honouring those who gained freedom via the Underground Railway that terminated in Owen Sound during the 1800’s, and filmed on and around the historic railway terminus site in Harrison Park in Owen Sound, the program was produced in association with Producer Tim Reilly of Leaking Ambience Studios and Executive Producers Barry Penhale, Jane Gibson and Terri Jackson. Due to Covid 19, this virtual tribute honours the 2020 event, which would have been the 158th consecutive three day celebration that has taken place in Owen Sound since 1862, and features commentary from prominent ancestors, authors, dignitaries, politicians, and Friends of the Emancipation, as well as musical performances by renowned singers and song writers, all veteran performers of the annual event.
